Self-Awareness- How to Control It -Your Thoughts Cause Your Feelings- Part 2

In this post I am going to help you take control of your thoughts so you can have good thoughts and good feelings. This happens be increasing your self-awareness.

Self-awareness –

What is self-awareness? Self-awareness is the ability to be aware of one self, including one’s traits, feelings and behaviors. You can also say awareness of your own individuality, having knowledge of.
So now that we know what the definition, how can you start to become self-aware? You can start by paying attention to your thoughts. Let’s start now! Go get a piece of paper and a pen or pencil. Write one word that comes to mind…

This is your start; writing about what you feel and think can be so helpful. It can help you to become aware of what you are truly thinking.  Just let your thoughts flow through your mind. One thing I want to stress is don’t try to change your thoughts and don’t try to judge them.

The object of this exercise is to help you to increase your awareness of your thoughts.  As you write about your thoughts, you may begin to realize, that maybe having opinions about what you are thinking. That is because the wonderful organ we call your brain is doing what it’s supposed to do. So don’t worry at all!

A perfect example would be me realizing that I called a man a womanizer and say to myself, “I should not have said that, that was not nice”. Because of this, you may be reluctant to do this exercise. You may feel that your thoughts are bad. The best thing to do is write what you are thinking and then write about what you thought while you were writing about your thinking.

I will leave you with this exercise, try it for a one week and we will continue with our next step in serious next time.
